Coventry City Guide |
Coventry is a city located in the county of West Midlands, England. Coventry is the 11th largest city in the United Kingdom and the 9th largest city in England. With a population of over 300,000, Coventry is also the second largest city in the English Midlands. Unlike a lot of larger British cities, Coventry is not on the coast. In fact, Coventry is further from the coast than any other large British city. Coventry can be found about 95 miles north and west of London and only about 19 miles east of Birmingham.
Those who visit Coventry will have plenty to see and do. There are many beautiful cathedrals in the area that will take your breath away when you visit the area. One of the most beautiful and breathtaking cathedrals is St. Michael’s Cathedral which is known by the people from all over the region. The architecture is amazing and will inspire you to take picture after picture to commit the images to memory.
If you want to see other things you may want to visit the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum. This is located in the city center and is enjoyable for those who have an appreciation for art. Another interesting museum is the Midland Air Museum, which is just across from the Coventry Airport. For those who want to learn more about the history of the area, the Coventry Police Force museum is an interesting place to go. This is under the ground and is very unusual.
Coventry is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year. The summer months are generally much more enjoyable than the winter months because the temperature is more comfortable. The area gets quite a bit of precipitation per year, another reason that the summer months are more enjoyable for those who are visiting.
