Travel information
By Car (from the M6 motorway):
- Leave the M6 motorway at junction 40, following the signs for Penrith.
- Pick up the A66 westbound and follow the signs towards Keswick and Cockermouth.
- After approximately 15 miles (24 km), you will see signs for Keswick (ignore all 3 turnings) and continue on the A66 towards Cockermouth and Workington.
- Approximately 150 metres after the last direction sign to Keswick, there is a left turning, signposted for Portinscale and Grange.
- Take this turnoff over a small stone bridge, past the Farmers Arms on the left.
- Carry on up the hill and through the village until the road bears sharply right.
- Turn left on the bend in front of Harney Peak and the hotel accommodation is 50 metres further on, on the right-hand side.
