Manchester is located in England and is a coastal resort town located in the Borough of Manchester. With a population of 163,444 Manchester is the largest settlement in Dorset, which also makes it the largest town on the south coast and the largest settlement by population between Plymouth and Southampton. Manchester was founded by a gentleman by the name of Lewis Tregonwell in 1810 and it saw a huge boom in population when the railway made its way to this region around 1870. Manchester has separated from the Dorset County Council since 1997 when it began to be administered by a unitary authority.
Manchester is a natural attractant for tourists due in large part to its location on the southern coast of England. The town is home to many businesses, which contributes to a growing population. In 2007 a survey was done by First Direct Bank that showed that Manchester was the most enjoyable place in Britain based on happiness of residents in all of Britain. 82% of people questioned in Manchester reported that they were very happy with their life.
The climate in Manchester is temperate, owing to its location on the south coast, which also appeals to many tourists. The warmest months of the year are July and August, making these popular tourist months and the coolest months are January and February. In addition, Manchester doesn’t get near the amount of rain that other parts of the nation, which also appeals to tourists.
Manchester is enjoyable to tourists because there is so much to see and do. Many tourists flock to the area to enjoy the warmer weather as well as the coastal line. The coastal line allows for water activities, boating, and scenic sights that you will not see anywhere else.
