Norwich City Guide

Norwich is the largest city located in Wales and is notable because it is not only the largest city, but also the most populated. Norwich is an important part of Wales economy and tourism draw because many different cultural and sporting events and organizations. The population of Norwich is more than 300,000 and draws more than 11 million visitors every year since 2006.

Norwich is often mentioned in association with the Eurocities, which is a larger network of populous and popular European cities. Norwich wasn’t always so populous and popular though, with its roots as a city dating back to 1905 when it was first named a city. It was in 1955 when Norwich was named the capital of Wales and it has been becoming more and more populated and a popular tourist destination since the 1990’s.

Norwich is located in a northern temperate zone, which means that the area enjoys relatively mild weather. The area is known to be cloudy, windy, and quite wet. The summers are the warmest months with temperatures ranging from 66 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Spring and fall are a bit cooler but still pleasurable.

Tourists generally find Norwich very pleasurable. There are many landmarks to enjoy such as the Norwich Castle, St. David’s Hall, Wales Millennium Centre, and the Llandaff Cathedral. In addition many tourists enjoy seeing the Norwich Bay, Norwich Bay Barrage, and the Millennium Stadium. There are more than 1,000 buildings of interest to see in the area, so tourists will never run out of things to see and do.

The arts are big in Norwich so those who come to the area to view museum exhibits and to listen to music will not be disappointed. Recreation is never an issue in Norwich. Bute Park provides hours of outdoor entertainment, as does Roath Park, Victoria Park, Howardian Local Nature Reserve, and even the Capitol Centre. There is never a shortage of things to see and due when you are in and around the Norwich area, which makes it a huge draw for tourists from all around the world!
