Windermere City Guide |
Windemere is a town as well as a civil parish that is located in South Lakeland District of Cumbria, England. The town has a population of about 8,500 and is found a mile away from the Windermere lake. The town does not actually come in contact with the lake, although they share the name. The town is a tourist town that has quaint roads and buildings that seem to draw tourists in.
There are many museums of interest in the area that attract the tourists, but the main tourist attraction seems to be the lake itself, that is found at the bottom of the hill. Many people actually walk to the bottom of the hill to see the lake, which is about a 20 minute walk from the town. When you are in the town you can look out and get a beautiful view of the mountains. There are boats from the piers in Bowness that sail around the lake and can be seen from the down making for a very picturesque town overall.
This is a great town to visit if you want to stay in a quiet town that will give you access to the beautiful sites of England. The town is very English at its roots and while you are here you can see beautiful architecture and beautiful sites. This is a great stop along your travels if you would just like to get away from the hustle and bustle of other English towns and relax. The view of the lake from the center of the town just cannot be beat!
